First Santa, Now The Easter Bunny…

To keep with the tradition of getting involved with helping others, Roundhay Web Design decided Easter was a brilliant time to help the people of Leeds. Over 150 Easter Eggs were bought and donated – wow! I don’t think I’d be able to keep my hands off if there was that much chocolate around me… Temptation would get the better of me. The Easter Eggs were then divided up into four lots and donated to four worthy causes in Leeds.

St Gemma’s Hospice

St Gemma’s Hospice, based in Moortown, were one of the four recipients of the chocolatey treats. The specialist centre cares for terminally ill people and offers some fantastic, much needed support to their families. Unbelievably, they receive absolutely no government funding, meaning they rely on fundraising and charitable donations to continue providing the amazing care they do.

Leeds Street Kitchen

Leeds Street Kitchen was the second of the four causes to receive a donation from Roundhay Web Design. They do amazing work gathering food donations for the homeless people that live in Leeds. An army of volunteers meet and distribute food to those that need a helping hand in life. The also do other work in the community, such as helping support other worthy causes… The group leader used the donation as part of a campaign to support Children’s Hospital Wards & Nursing Homes.

LGI Ward 50 – Children’s Ward

If there’s one thing that tugs at the heart strings of many, it is seeing children that are ill, especially when they are having a long stay in hospital. So, it is nice to hear that Roundhay Web Design were able to raise a few smiles by taking a selection of Easter Eggs to Ward 50, which is a specialist ward treating children with liver problems at the LGI.

Candlelighters Children’s Charity

Candlelighters are a children’s charity situated near Leeds General Infirmary. They work exceptionally hard to support children and families who have been affected by children’s cancer. Like St Gemma’s, the charity receives absolutely no government funding, despite the vital work they do for people who desperately need it. Without this support, many families would be left to struggle through the awful journey on their own.

The final batch of Easter Eggs was delivered to Candlelighters, which they used both in fundraising and as gifts to the children they support.
